There couldn't be a more befitting title for Amanda Rogers' 9th double-album release boldly called WILD for it's meaning fully describes the very creation of the album - from her fortuitous return to her home city, Syracuse, NY, to the process of her writing and recording it.

wild |wīld|: "To grow or develop without restraint or discipline; uncontrolled especially in the pursuit of happiness; untamed, fierce"
Amanda's foolhardy and spontaneous decision to return home was the happy accident that lead her to Subcat Studios, a recording studio in the heart of Syracuse, where she met up with Engineer/Co-Producer Jon Lessels. The two shared an uncanny passion for the same music of the 90's, and when it came to music production and their tousled blonde hair, they were like a matching pair of gloves. Upon being paired for the first time, something was sparked and the creative floodgates were opened. Before summer came to an end, Amanda had written more than 30 songs which these new musical partners quickly demo-ed as they poured out. There were no limitations and no expectations; just pure and absolute fun as Amanda live tracked vocals and piano and Jon accompanied on drums. Nothing was scrapped. Everything was magical. Everything was live. With only a few final additions, these unrestricted demo recordings transformed into what became the final album. The realization that it was a bona fide album was ample reason to enlist Patrick MacDougall (Heart, Joss Stone, SuperHeavy, The Band,…) who had recently returned to Syracuse after his 26 years working as a recording engineer in L.A. WILD captures Amanda's raw and uninhibited performances, candid conversations, and the tangle of emotions found sweeping through a fresh and uncharted territory.

Amanda Rogers is as resourceful as she is versatile when it comes to her craft of songwriting. Drawing from both the whimsical depths of her mind and the tangible world around her, WILD speaks of Amanda's many recollected stories while navigating life with an "old soul of a gypsy" and the precise moments of finding true love, home, and balance. With the rigid rules and patronizing patterns commonly found in todays pop music, WILD is to be considered unencumbered and unconventional. With Amanda's penchant and ability to write catchy hooks and addictive melodies, the result is an album reminiscent of the classic songwriting from the 50's, 60's, and 70's, splashed with the raw-edges and fearlessness of the 90's. The very nature of this album is "wild".

Amanda's "wild-like" approach to songwriting and performance is evident in songs like "And The Birds Will Sing" and "Sweet Sleep", which display carefree and unrestrained vocals in a way unsung on previous albums. Her writing continues to show evolution in songs "This American Dream" and "More, More, More" in which Amanda champions for working-class America and voices her distaste for corrupt corporations and the down-side of capitalism. Other songs such as "Walking" and "Can't Stop" flip to the other side of the coin, offering a glimpse into the lonely world of a rambler. Also found braided throughout the album's layers are themes of "true love" and the meaning of "home". WILD marks a triumphant return to organic song writing and recording, paying homage to the authentic creative process. Fittingly, the album's release date (April 2nd, 2014) will mark the 2 year anniversary of Amanda's long-awaited return to Syracuse, and the moment she began an album she didn't plan on making.

Genes I'm Always Wearing

She said I had his eyes in the sunlight
and then she cried like she's never cried before
Cause she knew that I did miss him
and my thoughts are always of him
and I'd feel more part of something
knowing I had more in common
with a distant memory...

And these genes I'm always wearin'
I'll wear them 'til they're fadin'
then I'll pass them on to someone who will need them more than me

And I can't fall against a bleeding sky
and I can't find a place to run and hide
cause this is who I am
and this is who I've been
and I'll be this way until the day I die.

Cause this is who I am
and this is who I've been
and I'll be this way until the day I die

She said I had his eyes in the sunlight
and then she cried like she's never cried before.
